Joo Chiat Constituency National Day Dinner 2006
Tsunami Disaster Appeal
Dear Friend,

Our Give Freely Foundation has donated S$10,000 to The Salvation Army for reflief to the Tsunami Disaster.
Latest death toll stands at 144,000 and that number is going to rise up dramatically. This is one, if not the, deadliest natural disasters ever existed in our life-time!
At Freely, we are calling upon you to extend your generosity and compassion to the communities in South Asia and Southeast Asia which have been devastated by the tsunamis. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost, property and livelihoods destroyed, and the survivors have been left with little recourse to the most basic of human needs.
As efforts to provide immediate relief reach these communities, The Salvation Army is preparing to move into stage two of its own response. This will be its biggest-ever programme of relief and reconstruction in its 135-year history as an international movement. From day one of the present emergency, on-the-spot Salvationist teams in the countries affected have been engaged in immediate rescue and relief. This will continue as long as is necessary.
In addition, representatives of the Emergency Services section at The Salvation Army's International Headquarters in London are now moving into place in Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka to support a sustained programme of reconstruction in the affected areas. The aim, in addition to relieving immediate distress, is to help enable the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their homes and livelihood - and often many members of their families - to resume something approaching their previous life as soon as possible.
As well as reconstructing properties, The Salvation Army will work hard at helping those affected to reconstruct their emotional wellbeing, through the provision of spiritual comfort, pastoral support and professional psychological counselling, where appropriate.
Towards that end, we are assisting The Salvation Army to raise funds through the Tsunami Kettle Pot Appeal. It will be held during our Live Freely Workshop on 6 January 2005 at the Amara Hotel and during our Live Freely Seminar on 8-10 January 2005 at Capital Tower.
Please join us to help these communities pick up the pieces and re-built their lives.
If you would like to make a monetary contribution, visit this webpage at http://www1.salvationarmy.org/singapore to donate.
Together as one, we can make a difference.
Give Freely!

What is your Definite Major Purpose?
Life is full of potential! It is meant to be lived to the fullest. Many people experience only a fraction of life's potential because they haven't decided what they want or where their life is going. "I just want to live day by day and see what happens" is a common approach people take to life.
Quality of life does not happen by chance. A fulfilling life begins with searching for and clarifying our reason for living...our life's purpose.
Imagine for a moment that today is your 100th birthday. The local newspaper plans to print an extensive story outlining your personal and professional achievements. Prepare your story as you would like to have it printed. How would you want them to describe what you had achieved? What would you want people to say about you? What would you tell the reporter was your primary purpose in life? What was really important in your life? In other words, what gave meaning to your daily activities?
If we do not develop our own personal mission and take responsibility for the quality of our lives, others will dictate it to us. Have you ever been overwhelmed by the demands of others? Do circumstances tend to control the direction and outcome of your day? Once you establish your purpose and determine that each day will be directed toward that purpose, then and only then can you be empowered to direct your own life. This valuable sense of direction, purpose and meaning allows us to live above (not under) our circumstances.
Fulfilled people have a strong sense of purpose. They know what they want, why they want it and how they plan to achieve it. Purpose-driven people get in the habit of doing things they don't like to do in order to accomplish the purpose they have defined.
Decide what really matters in your life. Write it down, spell it out and begin living beyond present limitations.

AIDS, war, exploding landmines, poverty, and famine have created a worldwide tragedy. Over 10 million orphans under the age of 15 are now struggling for survival with both parents dead. 108 million children have lost a mother, a father, or live parentless. More than 13.4 million children are AIDS Orphans, the fastest growing orphan population. Studies and news reports indicate that by 2005 there will be more than 20 million AIDS Orphans still alive. Please read "Children on the Brink 2002" below.
Life for these parentless children is desperate. They are forced to beg for food. They are often the victims of sexual predators and violent assaults because there are no adults left to care for them.
"It is possible to give freely and become more wealthy, but those who are stingy will lose everything." Proverbs 11:24
Give Freely Foundation is established to rescue these orphans and give them good care in orphan homes.
Our Definite Major Purpose is dedicated to provide basic resources to give these orphans a good headstart in society.

How do we do that?
Based on the same trading strategies taught by Dr. Clemen Chiang, he will leverage on options trading as a vehicle to raise funds to meet this need. Give Freely Foundation will distribute the money to orphan homes of her choice.
Are you or your group interested in joining us to restore the lives of needy orphans? We are trying to find people willing to connect with and support each of those orphan homes. Contact us at
